Yeah, look at all the scandals that have been going on in this industry: underage girls “pimped” by model agents, the “thinspiration” thing that goes on with these girls, models that hit people with cell phones, models that do dope or marry dope fiends, et cetera.

Plenty of ammo for some mean comedy.
They should have gotten me for the script, I tell ya!

I agree with Paco. for me this film (with the exeption of the indeed marvellous Streep) did not have enough ‘bite’. The satire on the fashion industry was too mild for my taste.
At some point one of the characters says: I am one stomach flu away from my perfect weight. The film could have done with a bit more of this.

I expected more of this movie; it was the ultimate opportunity to make e real mean comedy. Streep was very good, but could have been more fiesty, sharper and bitchy. This movie could have used some English screenplay writers; they understand what it is to write some razor-sharp comedy. Now it was too soft.

Anne Hathaway was the least convincing: the logic of her character goes out the window after 15 minutes, but she also never struck me als the “brainy” journalist she is supposed to be. For the rest this movie went through the usual comedy motions.

A pity, it could have been much more.
