Little Miss Sunshine (2006)

little miss sunshine A few months back I was in a movie theater when a trailer for this film came on screen. Immediately I thought, “Wow, I really want to see this movie when it comes out.” first of all, it had a terrific cast, and secondly, the premise seemed tragically comical and intelligent. Something right up my alley. Sure, there’s always that trepidation that a film won’t live up to the promise of the previews, but there was something about this one that made it special.

Final Destination 3 (2006)

When the first and second Final Destination films came out, there were two elements going for them thhat made this horror franchise stand apart. First, the killer may or may not be the angel of death who feels he was cheated of a huge quota; the second being that most of the characters seemed to care about things and people around them. There was suspense in these films. Final Destination 3, however, is nothing but an excerise in shock value with characters that act not like they are getting out of high school, but just out of the first grade. Everyone.

Clerks 2 (2006)

Dante (Brian O’Halloran) and Randall (Jeff Anderson) are back in Clerks 2. Well, they aren’t really back since they didn’t really go anywhere. After that abysmal change of pace known as Jersey Girl, it’s nice to see director Kevin Smith doing what he does best. Watching Dante, Randall, Jay and Silent Bob back together on the screen is like being reunited with old friends.
