Minority Report (2002)

minority_report.jpgIt’s been a while since I saw Minority Report, but I wanted to start a list of all the references to other films that are in this great sci-fi movie. Please feel free to drop any additions into my mailbox.

- The story is very similar to “Jugde Dredd”, which also deals with a future system of justice, and a cop that gets in trouble with that system.

- Max von Sydow plays a very similar role in both films.

- The eyedoctor reminded me of Blade Runner, and indeed the eyes come from a man with a japanese name.

- The “pre-cog” that gets kidnapped by Tom Cruise’s character reminded me of Leeloo in The Fifth Element.

- There was some Star Wars joke in there as well that I can’t even remember.

You see, I’m starting to forget this. I’ll rent the DVD soon and update this list. :)

  • Also the concept of pre-crime can be categorized as part of the family of ‘interdimensional’ plots.
